Actually though กู มึง are just archaic forms of ผม ฉัน but no doubt everybody knows this already so teaching my grandmother how to cook eggs perhaps

That's one thing we talk about in CTF - when learning a language, it's just as much a psychological game as learning words and grammar. We need to put to one side the rights / wrongs, weirds, politically correct / incorrect at least temporarily to try and get into the mind of the people who speak the language we are learning, then render the version of ourselves more natively in that language - in this case Thai. Maybe set it to yourself as a challenge - decide on what you'll use to sound more 'Thai' and consciously work at it with your wife to develop that new habit. I think it will be worth it.

คุณที่รักที่สุดในสามโลก is what she probably would prefer, but i'll stick to ผม even if it is distant, I am not saying คุณที่รักที่สุดในสามโลก

Oh! call her คุณที่รัก ? really, that sounds odd to me now, I'm probably translating it to English.

There was a vice principal at my old school who liked to be called Vice Principal Veerawat (forgot surname) First Leader and Commander of Boy Scouts, not sure how to say it in Thai though
